Language Explorer now being evaluated in NHS clinics

This week we have started our first in-clinic sessions using Language Explorer. There are three sites participating in the evaluation of the app within this project -

Bristol, Newcastle and Hackney. Clinicians at each of the three sites will use the app with the children who use their service and we will compare the performance of the children to their performance on standardised assessments. We are also asking the clinicians, children and parents what they think about Language Explorer. Some children will use the app in the speech and language therapy clinics and some will use it remotely via a weblink. This is an example of how the study has had to adjust to the ways in which speech and language therapy services have adapted during the pandemic.

The team at the Bristol Speech and Language Therapy Research Unit are going to be overseeing the evaluation.
